Currently, we are in an early development stage. Many whitepapers and specifications have been completed, and are available to read and download. The current Alliance source tree is over a megabyte (compressed), and growing rapidly. The tree is available via the CVS server (available to members only). It can also be found at the AllOS FTP site, and the Download site. Many of the subsystems have initial specifications, and the most important subsystems have stable specifications and code. The current code enables you to boot the Alliance Cache Kernel (CK), but not to actually 'use' it yet, as the current kernel is mainly used by CK developers to test and profile the CK subsystems as they get coded. The current CK has about 75% of the features planned for the first version.

Other subsystems that have code are the I/O System Kernel, and the System ORB. The code for these subsystems is designed to run on top of Linux, until the CK is stable enough to support them. If you want to know the current features of the Alliance system, visit the development status page. Coding on the core system is progressing at a rapid pace, so check back often at the development site.
